IMD 390 Spring 2010 Portfolio (Art Institute of Charleston)
Course Description
Students are guided through the process of compiling their work into interactive portfolios. They apply techniques and strategies to market themselves in their chosen fields. Emphasis is placed on students assessing their most marketable skills and designing the portfolio to best market these skills. Students not only develop an on-line portfolio, but also prepare a professional resume and support documentation for projects. Students appear for a comprehensive examination and portfolio defense. This course must be taken in the final quarter of the associate’s degree program.
Competencies/Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
Identify at least three current job openings in the field that relate to your career goals
Generate a professional resume and business card
Identify and secure a unique domain name
Generate a professional on-line portfolio
Present digital and print portfolio projects as well as packaging
Present yourself professionally at the portfolio defense interview
Present your portfolio and respond to questions related to it
